An entrepreneur to the core, Dave co-founded Profiles Global (Atlantic) Inc. in 2002 to support human resources processes in the workplace. While working closely with human resources professionals it became clear that there was a solid requirement for executive coaching at all levels of management in small, medium and large organizations – and Dave’s clients were asking him for coaching. In response to this growing need, Dave completed coaching training at Royal Roads University and founded Vision Coaching Inc., which now boasts a growing roster of experienced, credentialed coaches who share Dave’s vision and passion for coaching leaders.

Vision Coaching’s clients range from entrepreneurs to executives of multinational corporations. They come from a wide range of industries across North America, Europe and Asia in private and public sector organizations such as Xerox, RCI/Wyndham, Irving Oil, University of New Brunswick, Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), Government of New Brunswick, Atlantic Wholesalers and more.

In 2008, Vision Coaching earned the Board of Trade’s Outstanding Achievement Award as an “Emerging Enterprise”. Dave is a board member of the International Coach Federation (New Brunswick chapter) and is regularly invited to speak to learners in the Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching Program at Royal Roads University, the University of New Brunswick’s MBA program, as well as several local and national organizations.

In 2011, Dave received the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential, a prestigious designation for a proven coach with at least 750 hours of client coaching experience.

Originally from the Yukon, Dave now resides in southern New Brunswick with his wife and children.

Dr. Howatt, a behavioural scientist, is known as one of Canada’s top experts in mental health issues in the workplace and has more than 30 years of experience in the field of mental health, addiction, and HR consulting. As a highly-respected columnist for the Globe and Mail, author, clinician, consultant and speaker.

Dr. Howatt is the creator of Pathway to Coping, Certified Management Essentials and Mental Fitness Practice for the University of New Brunswick. He is also co-leading a three year action study with WSPS out of Ontario and the Conference Board of Canada on how to create a psychological safe workplace.

He is Chair of CSA Standard 21008: Management of Substance Related Impairment in the Workplace. Dr. Howatt is a member of the International Research Advisory Council (IRAC) at Pacific Coast University of Workplace Health Sciences (PCU-WHS).

Dr. Howatt has filled the roles as Chief of Research Workforce Productivity for the Conference Board of Canada and Chief of Research and Development, Workforce Productivity at Morneau Shepell where he launched a total health consulting strategy designed to improve health engagement and productivity in Canadian organizations.

He has published numerous over 40 books and 400 articles, such as The Coping Crisis, Pathway to Coping, the Wiley Series on addictions, The Human Services Counseling Toolbox, and The Addiction Counselor’s Desk Reference. He is a regular contributor to The Globe and Mail 9 to 5 and Leadership Lab columns and The Chronicle Herald.

Bill Howatt, is Ph.D., Ed.D., Post Doctorate Behavioral Science, University of California, Los Angeles, Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, RTC, RSW, ICADC.
