Sometimes there are people in your life that grow with you as you explore and find your path. Kristy O’Leary is not just one of those people for Greg, but for our podcast, as a frequent guest we love to catch up with. And catching up with Kristy means hearing all about how she is helping to lead the way in getting businesses to stop making excuses, better understand what doing business with purpose means, and help them achieve their B Corp Status.

Episode Breakdown

First 10 Minutes
We about Greg’s recent accident that caused some re-scheduling of our recording of new episodes, so we are happy to be getting connected to our guest Dolores Hirschmann today. Dolores introduces us to the work that she does with clients as a business coach and executive coach to help people unlock their ideas. Dolores explains that as people, we tend to get in the way of our ideas because we don’t believe we can. Greg asks about whether Dolores sees trends between new or established entrepreneurs. Dolores says she considers the more seasoned you are, the more limiting believes you have. Dolores explains how startup entrepreneurs have the energy to push to believe they can do things.

10 Minutes – 20 Minutes
The group discusses how businesses grow over time and how limiting beliefs can start to sneak in as a business grows because they can achieve certain things they were trying to accomplish from the start. Dolores believes we are all in startup mode if we choose that path. The group talks about the growth and the ways we can challenge ourselves to grow our businesses and the work/life balance we have to seek.

20 Minutes – 30 Minutes
Dolores talks about identifying what you want to do and what you’re good at and letting go of what you don’t need to focus on. The group talks about working on their passions or activities to fill them with energy and avoid those that drain energy. The group plan for episode 2 and plans of how they could work together for a podcast.

My mother tells the story how I was with her at a park and I really wanted a “CUCURUCHO CON DULCE DE LECHE” (Argentinian treat) from a vendor and she had said no. I was about 4 years old. A few minutes later, while she was distracted with my brother, I come back with the treat I so wanted… I had “talked” the vendor into gifting me one. Your WORDS matter! How we communicate matters! If you want something you have to communicate it well. As a mum of  I became an entrepreneur because I wanted to be present for my children while being financially independent and professionally engaged.

I started 3 different business while my children were young all of them had ONE THING in common. Each one of them had a clear STORY on how they came to be. The message was clear and it was communicated well.

They existed for a reason, to help  women have an income while staying home with their children (WAWAS), to raise my children bilingual (LANGUAGE SCHOOL), and this reason was communicated clearly.
